‘Blue Bloods’ Stars Donnie Wahlberg & Bridget Moynahan Upset Series is Ending

Blue Bloods

CBS has decided to bring their popular drama series ‘Blue Bloods’ to a close and are set to put a bow on the series this 14th season, however stars of the series aren’t happy that the network is bringing things to an end.

‘Blue Blood’ stars Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan spoke about it during an appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ on Tuesday, saying that they are “upset and sad”.

Barrymore asked the stars – “I think everybody’s really upset and sad, but also happy and satiated?”

“More upset and sad,” Wahlberg said (h/t Deadline).

“I think it’s more saying goodbye to the people behind the characters” Moynahan added. “We’ve created such a family on set with each other and the crew — most of the crew’s been with us for 14 years, so we’ve been through a lot of weddings, births, deaths, and everything. We’ve been through it all with each other.”

Last November it was reported that the series would be ending with an 18-episode Season 14 that would be split into two parts with 10 of those episodes landing this spring followed by the remaining 8 episodes coming out this fall.

A number of the show’s stars, including star/executive producer Tom Selleck, have been reportedly lobbying with the network to extend ‘Blue Bloods’ run beyond the fall.

CBS is reportedly sticking with the 8-episode final release to close out the series.

“I see a lot of very upset people out there. We’ll see what happens” Selleck said.

“They say it’s an eight-episode wind-down, and I say, ‘We’ll see,’” Selleck said, during an interview with USA Today. “Look, I’ll do whatever is best for the whole situation. But I love this show, obviously. And I think CBS is going to end up being very conflicted with their present plans.”
