Sony Pictures, anime specialty company Crunchyroll, and Japanese pat TV broadcasting company Wowow has announced a partnership that will see the brands join forces on a joint anime series called ‘Bye Bye, Earth’.
The anime series is based on a best-selling Japanese novel by Tow Ubukata.
The brands said that the content will broadcast and stream on WOWOW in Japan, while launching on Crunchyroll in the more than 200 other countries and territories where the platform is active. This is certainly going to bring in a lot of interest from cosplayers who are closely associated with the anime industry, and maybe even some cosplay NFTs could come into play.
“Anime fans love to discover new worlds and our partnership with WOWOW and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan will allow us to present new adventures to the global anime community,” said Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll in an official statement.
