After many, many years there will finally be a live-action reboot of the classic ‘Masters of the Universe’ which is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 5th, 2026 and will be directed by Travis Knight, according to Deadline.
Mattel Films’ Robbie Brenner, and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch are producing while Chris Butler is working on the screenplay.
According to the reported synopsis: “The movie follows ten-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe.”
While the film had been in limbo for several years with Sony initially attached and then Netflix, it is now coming to life at Amazon MGM.
