‘Rick and Morty’ Co-Creator Justin Roiland Faced Domestic Violence Charges

Justin Roiland, who is the co-creator and star of the popular ‘Rick and Morty’ adult animated series, is now facing facing felony charges related to a 2020 incident of alleged domestic violence, according to Variety.

Roiland, 42, was charged in Orange County, California with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit, per the report.

Roiland pleaded not guilt back in 2020 and appeared in court on Thursday, January 2023 for a pre-trial hearing, however a trial date has not be set as of this time. Roiland is due for another pre-trial hearing on April 27th.

According to Variety, the incident occurred on or around January 19th, 2020, against an unnamed Jane Doe who was dating Roiland at the time. Roiland is free on a $50,000 bond, per the report and was arraigned on October 14th of the same year.
