Its a great week for Michael B. Jordan fans as the star is riding some crazy high waves. He plays the ruthless antagonist Eric Killmonger in Marvel’s latest superhero adventure Black Panther which has raked in a massive $192.3 million this weekend and dethroned last year’s R-rated Deadpool ($132.4 million) by setting the all-time February opening weekend record. While Black Panther will keep on smashing more records in the days to come, Jordan has already started the gruesome training for his next project, Creed 2. Sylvester Stallone recently dropped the official Creed 2 poster online and the movie is set to hit theaters later this year on November 21st, 2018. Ryan Coogler who is the director of Black Panther, also directed the first Creed movie back in 2015 which became an unexpected yet instant hit. Judging by the poster, its clear that Creed 2 is going to be even better than the first one as it marks the return of Ivan Drago, the mighty Russian boxer Rocky faced off in Rocky IV and also responsible for the death of Adonis Creed’s father, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).
Romanian Boxer Florian “The Big Nasty” Munteanu came on board to play Ivan Drago’s son just last month and undoubtedly will go one on one against Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis Creed. Even though this grudge match is going to be epic, fans are hopeful to see some action between Rocky and Ivan Drago. Stallone has been teasing his fans throughout last year that he’ll “throw at least one punch” in Drago’s direction to which Dolph Lundgren responded in a befitting manner. Now, Stallone dropped the latest Creed 2 poster online with an intimidating caption that reads, “It’s fight time.”
Sylvester Stallone co-wrote the Creed 2 script with Cheo Hodari Coker (Luke Cage) and was at one point set to direct the sequel as well due to Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther commitment. However, it was announced later last year that Steven Caple Jr. will helm this project and Ryan Coogler will remain attached to Creed 2 as an executive producer. Creed 2 has an official release date of November 21st, 2018 and the production is slated to start next month so we can expect some fresh photos from the Creed 2 set very soon. In the meantime, check out the latest Creed 2 poster courtesy Sylvester Stallone’s Instagram account and stay tuned for more and latest Hollywood news.
