Director Ron Howard recently made an official announcement that the Han Solo movie has finally wrapped production and thanked the cast and crew members in a short video he posted on Twitter. He also revealed the official title of the Star Wars spin-off movie which is Solo: A Star Wars Story. Now since the movie is finally in the can, Star Wars fans can finally breathe easy. Solo: A Star Wars Story project had been swarmed with several issues in the recent past but the legendary director finally took the ship home. This is what Ron Howard said in the video:
“Hi. Well, as we wrap up production I just want to take this moment to thank an incredibly talented cast and crew for all of their hard work. And to the fans out there, I hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures that I’ve been sharing. Pictures that I’ve taken from the set of….can we even say the name of the movie?”

Director Ron Howard came on board after Disney and Lucasfilm fired directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) over creative differences. Both the directors made their exit a few weeks before the production of Han Solo movie was scheduled to end. Naturally, when Ron Howard took the director’s chair an additional period of 2 months was added to the filming and a lot of the movie was reshot.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is the second Star Wars spin-off movie after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and is set to release on May 25, 2018. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story made a whopping $1 Billion worldwide so it seems that Disney and Lucasfilm are going to make further Star Wars spin-offs in the near future.
