It was earlier speculated that Terminator 6 will be rebooting the franchise but James Cameron the creator of the franchise and producer of Terminator 6 confirmed that T6 will, in fact, be the direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. He further explained that Terminator 6 will ignore every other Terminator movie after the second one. He added that Terminator 3, Terminator: Salvation and Terminator: Genisys will still exist but in a different timeline. Lucky for the fans and the creators, since Terminator movies are all about traveling through timelines, Terminator 6 will have some sort of explanation for the viewers that will justify the existence of other Terminator movies after the second one. Terminator fans have been receiving a lot of good news about the upcoming Terminator 6 movie. Deadpool’s Tim Miller will be directing this movie working alongside the legendary James Cameron who’ll be closely involved in this project as the producer. Cameron also managed to convince his ex-wife and original Sarah Conner played by Linda Hamilton to reprise her role which means it will be the first time in 27 years, Cameron, Hamilton, and Schwarzenegger will be working together after 1991s Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Terminator 2 is still considered the best movie of the franchise so far and raked in $519.8 million back in 1991, something no other Terminator movie in the franchise could beat. But if there’s anyone who can make a Terminator movie that can revive the franchise and make tons of money in the process, it’s definitely the duo of Tim Miller and James Cameron.
