20th Century Fox has debuted the War for the Planet of the Apes trailer, providing a look at the followup to 2014’s well received box office hit, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
Andy Serkis is back in the motion-capture suit for the role of Caeser. Judy Greer returns as Cornelia, with Woody Harrelson portraying the Colonel. Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller and Terry Notary also star. Dawn co-writer and director Matt Reeves returned to helm and pen the script alongside Mark Bomback (Total Recall, The Wolverine).
War for the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters on July 14, 2017.
