WWE Announces Multi-Year Deal with Twitch

twitch

WWE announced on Monday morning that they have agreed to terms with the Amazon video game streaming platform Twitch on a multi-year partnership that will see WWE re-introduce its official channel, set to feature “live and exclusive content” with WWE stars, according to MarketWatch.

The new deal will include a “companion sidecast” to Monday Night Raw which will feature a “rotating cast of hosts” and appearances by WWE superstars, and will make it’s official debut on Monday Night RAW tonight, via WWE’s official Twitch channel.

Additionally, WWE’s partnership with Twitch will allow its superstars to return to the streaming platform, which will feature their own “live and exclusive content”, a big turn from the controversy a few years ago in 2020 where WWE banned a number of their talent from streaming on platforms such as Twitch. The ban also blocked a significant source of outside revenue and incited a public debate on WWE labeling their wrestlers as “independent contractors” despite their efforts to limit and control their outside interests.

Fightful Select reported in April that WWE struck a deal with Twitch to allow performers to return to the platform “with almost no restrictions” and today’s announcement makes it official.
